Commission. London Heathrow Airport iPad art classes. The art of travel - the experience of travel is changing
Imagine being able to take an art class or watch a live art performance prior to boarding your flight at one of the world’s busiest airports. The experience of travel is changing at London Heathrow.
London Heathrow Airport commissioned Andy to host 4 days of iPad art classes for passengers in their terminals. Travellers could take an art class and watch Andy drawing live on his iPad.
The traveller’s experience is changing, airports and departure lounges can become hubs for learning and discovery.
Below are five video recordings of some of the pictures drawn at London Heathrow Airport.
“This picture was painted over a few hours. The video recording shows the changes in location over time. An outline of a taxiing aircraft is painted into the foreground and then later painted over with another aircraft which has just parked at the stand. As I’m responding to what I’m looking at the changing light from afternoon to early evening can be seen during the process of painting. This is an glimpse into the life of T4 at Heathrow airport during the time I was there.”
