London Heathrow Airport is the UK's premier international airport with some 80 airlines flying direct to over 180 destinations worldwide.
Imagine being able to watch live drawing or take a digital drawing class prior to boarding your flight at one of the world’s busiest airports. London Heathrow Airport commissioned Andy to host four days of iPad art classes and live drawing sessions for passengers in their terminals. The experience of travel is changing, airports and departure lounges can become hubs for new experience, learning and discovery.
Above is a video recording of one of the pictures drawn at London Heathrow Airport. The art of travel.
Post July 2014 The experience of travel is changing at London Heathrow Airport.
“This picture was drawn over a few hours. The video recording shows the changes in location over time. An outline of a taxiing aircraft is sketched into the foreground and then later drawn over with another aircraft which has just parked at the stand. As I’m responding to what I’m looking at the changing light from afternoon to early evening can also be seen during the process of drawing. This is a glimpse into the life of T4 at Heathrow airport during the time I was there.”
